"Studio Singing" Class Added to the Jazz Vocal Curriculum at CCNY

The CCNY Jazz Vocal Program will offer the "Studio Singing" class in the Fall semester of 2010. This class will be taught by Carolyn Leonhart, with the first month being taught by Vaneese Thomas. Both of these ladies are incredible singers and human beings, and have very deep credentials in the music world, as solo and background singers (Steely Dan, Mike McDonald, Boz Skaggs, Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, Sting, etc.), as well as writers and producers. Check them out at: http://www.carolynleonhart.com & http://www.vaneesethomas.com.

This class, which will focus on the art of background singing, will help to broaden the musicianship skills of the jazz vocalists and better prepare them for a career in the music business. Carolyn and Vaneese bring their years of professional experience to the students at CCNY, giving them a first-hand view into what will be expected of them if hired for commercial singing work.
